Easiest Way To Practice Meditation

Hi there, I hope you're doing well today! :)

Before we begin to talk about the meditation practice, I want you to sit back, relax, take a deep breath in and dive into this meditative piece of writing to know about the simplest and the easiest way to practice meditation that would work for everyone..
We often feel too busy or too tired to meditate, thinking that a lot of time and  efforts go into sitting and practicing meditation. Many people have these notions, rather say misconceptions regarding the practice of meditation- it is just too difficult, it consumes so much of time, it's so hard to sit with an empty mind, and so on. However, these beliefs are not true.

Meditation is easier than you think.

It is essential that we learn what meditation really is before we embark on this journey.
Having practiced meditation and yoga for a significant  amount of years now,  it has almost been fourteen years on and off since I started my meditation practice, back in 2006; I dove in a little deeper this time to find out the meaning of meditation that most resonated with the one that I had in mind. I finally came across one -

Meditation simply means awareness. In other words, awareness is the very essence of meditation. So as long as you are aware of what your thoughts are, how you're feeling, what you're doing in the moment and you maintain this awareness, that's meditation. You're being mindful of your thoughts, your feelings in the present moment and being totally aware of what's going on within your mind and body.

For a beginner, being aware and mindful is the very first step to practicing meditation. As you go deeper into your meditation practice, you'll begin to discover what works best for you. Certainly, you can practice meditation anywhere, anytime, under any circumstances. All you need is a mind that's still and aware at the same time. It's always better to find a calm and quiet place to sit and begin your meditation practice.

As you sit down in a comfortable position and close your eyes, you must begin to focus on your breath. When we sit in meditation, a lot of thoughts come to our mind, the aim is to acknowledge each thought as it comes and let it go. Keep the focus on your breath as you let go of that thought after you have acknowledged it in your mind. This builds awareness and mindfulness. Be still and mindful of each breath. Slowly, you'll get into a meditative state of mind.

You may also begin your practice by-
a. Chanting Om loudly or in your mind.
b. Focusing on being one with the God.
c. Focusing on nature sounds.
d. Focusing on sounds of bell, Tibetan bowl, wind chimes, etc.
e. Concentrating on your breath.

Find what  feels good and be present in the moment. The goal of meditation is to connect with the deeper self. The feeling of being 'One with oneself' cannot be traded for any other feeling in the world.

Meditation has a lot of health benefits. I like to call it 'soul food' as it nurtures the body, the mind and the soul. Meditation -
a. Stops the mind's chatter and helps you see things with clarity.
b. Makes you a better person.
c. Gives you time for self reflection.
d. Gives you more energy.
e. Generates positivity within you with each practice session.

Therefore, take this time to slow down, everyone deserves to take a few moments for themselves. Moments of quietness are the most important moments that one can indulge into and experience. One must tune into oneself in order to be balanced and peaceful. So take some time to meditate, even if it's just for a few moments,  I'm sure you're going to love this and I hope this gives you a clearer perspective.
